The first off road 100km in the Lake District, the 100km Ultimate Trails Challenge is a testing 100km course through some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in the Lake District. The tough, challenging course is worth 3 UTMB entry credit points and will certainly live up to it's billing as the most picturesque ultra marathon in the UK. The 100km route also includes 6 mountain passes, 5 lakes, 14,000 ft ascent/descent along with 10 memorable feed stations.
The 50km Ultimate Trails Challenge, utilises the final 50km section of the 100km course, and is worth 1 UTMB entry credit point, for those wanting a shorter ultra marathon option

Congratulations to everyone taking part in the very first Ultimate Trails Challenge. Results with Split Times and FREE professional photos of competitors out on the course are now available for download from our Facebook page.
Starting and finishing in the private grounds at Brockhole, Lake District National Park Visitor Centre, Windermere, the 100km Ultimate Trails Challenge takes in a complete circuit of the central Lake District, along well marked and marshalled footpaths and bridleways.
The 50km Ultimate Trails Challenge is designed for those wanting a shorter option, and is a great stepping stone into the world of Ultra running.
The start and finish arena will be quite a party, with entertainment, food stalls, trade and retail stands and PA commentary.
The course is fully waymarked and marshalled, with well stocked feed stations along the route. There are some great prizes on offer for the Race, and winners prizes in the veteran classes.
